Vista Linda was built the way houses on this coast used to be built — tall timber floors, deep verandas, everything turned toward the water — and it is kept the way a family keeps its own place: linens pressed, pool clear, firewood stacked by the wood stove. It opened to guests recently, and every stay so far has rated it five stars.
Your host is Danilo, who looks after the house and its guests personally. Questions before you book, directions up the hill, a restaurant worth the drive, more gas for the barbecue — messages get answered by a person who knows the house, not a call center.
The house works for the trips that are hardest to book well: three generations under one roof, two or three families traveling together, a group of friends who want the pool and the billiard table in the same building. Sixteen beds means nobody sleeps on a sofa unless they want the sofa.
